Adoption Fees
$10.00 for rescues older than three months

I have had problems with delivering, and meeting halfway in the past. There are a lot of flakes out there.
It has caused me lots of wasted time and gas (a very annoying drive home). If you would like to meet halfway, and are SERIOUS about adopting, I might do so at 50 cents a mile (standard IRS rate). Contact me if this is something you would like to do and we can work out a meeting point.

Rockstar Rats Policy:
1. We will only adopt out in same sex pairs UNLESS: We have a single for adoption, or the adopter already has a same sex or neutered/spayed companion at home.
2. We only adopt to those who are 18 and over. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must co-sign at the time of adoption.
3. All rescues are adopted out under a Pet Only contract. Exception: Unless I know you to be an established breeder, you must have at least two references sent to me by two different breeders.
4. We will never take in more rescues than we can safely and properly accommodate.
5. We will never euthanize any of our rats no matter how long they've been here for.
6. Before adoption, all of our rescued rats are put in quarantine. Any medical attention that may be required will be provided to insure that they are in good health before being adopted out.
7. Each rescued rat has human socialization time at least twice a day from the day they come in. We will evaluate their temperament, and determine whether or not they can be put up for adoption.
8. Rockstar Rats reserves the right to deny any person for any reason, even at time of adoption, should we believe the placement of our rescue is inappropriate.
9. Rescue litters are adopted out at 5 weeks of age. Although wait lists are formed, we cannot guarantee each person will get what they asked for. There is no way for us to determine how many babies, or how many of a certain gender will be born.
Adopter's Agreement:
1. I agree that the animal being adopted is for myself, as a companion and family member.
2. I agree that the animal will be treated humanely and will be provided with fresh food, water, and a clean living environment with adequate space.
3. I agree to obey all applicable laws governing control and custody of animals.
4. I agree that if a child interacts with the animal, proper supervision will be given at all times.
5. I agree that the animal is to be provided with proper medical care and treatment if the need arises.
6. I agree that the animal is not going to be used as a feeder, and is not to be sold or given away for any reason. If it becomes necessary to find the animal another home, I agree to contact Rockstar Rats and return the animal without requesting a fee, or to find a re-homing solution together.
7. I agree to properly quarantine the adopted animal for 14 days. It is to the best of Rockstar Rats knowledge that the animal is healthy and free from any illness, or contagious disease. If any illness occurs within the quarantine period, I understand that I can return the adopted animal to Rockstar Rats and receive a refund. I understand that if any illness or medical problems should occur after the quarantine period, Rockstar Rats is not liable for any medical bills or refunds.
8. I understand that Rockstar Rats assumes no responsibility, nor shall they be held liable for any damages caused by the adopted animal to property, person, or other pets.
9. I agree to keep Rockstar Rats informed of my current contact information and give permission to contact me at any reasonable time to ensure the adopted animal is being cared for properly.
10. I agree not to use the animal for breeding UNLESS I am an established breeder, and Rockstar Rats has received at least two references.
